Kia ora and Welcome to Ngatea Early Learning Centre.

Our licensed operating hours are between the hours of 7.30am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday we currently are operating 8.00am-5.00pm. We have an open-door policy that allows families to feel welcome to stop by at all times. 

Here at Ngatea Early Learning Centre we are licensed for 27 tamariki, 5 under 2’s and 22 over 2’s, in a mixed learning environment. We believe our centre’s greatest strength lies in our warm, welcoming environment and the genuine relationships we build with tamariki and their whānau. Our smaller size allows us to provide personalised attention, ensuring every child feels seen, supported, and confident. Our friendly and attentive kaiako create a nurturing space where children are happy, settled, and thriving. With open, proactive communication and a strong focus on wellbeing, families feel informed, reassured, and proud to be part of our centre community.

We are well resourced and offer a number of spaces the support our tamariki, in addition to our open play area indoors where children are free to explore, play and be creative, we have a dedicated sleep room for pēpi, and a second play room we convert for older sleepers we have two wonderful outdoor play spaces. Our back area contains gardens and a covered deck, perfect for winter; while our front play space contains all the essentials our children love: slides, swings, a sandpit, a purpose built pirate ship and big beautiful trees that provide shade during the summer months

We offer competitive pricing and if your child is 3, 4, or 5 years old we offer 20 hours, fully subsidised for 6 hours a day, up to 20 hours a week. At Ngatea Early Learning Centre, we provide a healthy, wholesome morning tea consisting of fruit or vegetables and a snack, which is often home baking that has been lovingly prepared by the kaiako and tamariki.
