Kai Time at Ngatea Early Learning Centre
At Ngatea Early Learning Centre we provide a healthy, balanced morning tea for the tamariki. This generally consists of a selection of fruit and a snack which is often wholesome home baking.
We ask that you pack a lunchbox with enough food to satisfy your child for the rest of the day, and a named drink bottle. The Ministry of Health has provided some guidelines to help reduce food related choking. Please click on this link to see these guidelines.

Licensed Operating Hour Requirements
Our licensed operating hours are between the hours of 7.30am-5.30pm, Monday - Friday. For this reason, we unfortunately are not able to have children here outside of these hours.
When dropping off or collecting your child please sign the attendance roll located on the unit inside the door and let a teacher know of your arrival/departure. This is also our way of contact tracing if we ever need to know who has been at the centre.
When bringing your child in or collecting them, please make sure it is within your booking time as we have to meet ratio requirements as set out by the Ministry of Education. Please email the manager if you ever need to change booked hours.
An extra charge or a late fee may be incurred if you drop off early or pick up late. If you are running late or have an emergency please inform us. Our centre landline is 07 867 7892 or our mobile number is 027 248 4144
Settling In
We understand that some children have an item that they find comforting , that you might like to use when settling your child into the centre. We ask after this stage we would appreciate that all other toys from home, stay at home. This helps stop any upsets and special toys from home being lost or broken. The centre is not liable for any damage or loss to these toys.
Visits
Here at Ngatea Early Learning Centre, we believe in supporting our tamariki when transitioning them into our care. This is why we strongly recommend bringing your child in for a minimum of 3, 30 minute visits. During this time they will be able to experience some of our activities and routines. Our team leaders and teachers will discuss this with you further when you visit.
