TAKING ENROLMENTS NOW
Ngatea Early Learning Centre Philosophy
At Ngatea Early Learning Centre, we see children as capable, confident learners who are supported to grow and learn at their own pace, in their own unique way.
As a small, mixed-age centre, we value the rich learning that comes from Tuakana-teina relationships, where children learn alongside and from one another. We foster a welcoming, respectful environment where all children and whānau feel comfortable, included, and experience a strong sense of belonging. Learning is unhurried, holistic, and guided by the interests, strengths, and needs of each child.
We value the importance of strong, reciprocal relationships with parents, caregivers, whānau, and our wider community. Through these partnerships, we share knowledge, values, and aspirations, working together to support each child’s learning journey in a meaningful and connected way.
We nurture the development of lifelong skills, encouraging children to become independent, adaptable, and empathetic learners who show Manaakitanga and take on the role of Kaitiaki, caring for others and the world around them.
As Tangata Tiriti, we honour Māori as Tangata Whenua and are committed to upholding the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. We endeavour to weave te reo me ngā tikanga Māori through our everyday practice and continue to grow our understanding of te ao Māori alongside our tamariki and whānau
